Vodafone 3G coverage

The order was regarding telcos providing 3G to customers in circles where they don't have a license via sharing. Roaming is fine. Example: Idea doesn't have 3G in Mumbai, this means that it can't provide 3G to Mumbai customers via sharing. But, can do so to roaming customers from circles where it has a 3g license.

But how can I access Airtel 3G in Haryana if Airtel does not have rights to 3G in Haryana?

No no. Here I think Idea customers will not be able to use 3G in mumbai even if their home network has 3G. So a UP(W) Idea customer will NOT be able to use 3G when he is travelling in Mumbai

I have traveled extensively in Haryana and my phone lets me use Airtel 3G on roaming :|
It must be using vodafone network to get u the 3G data .. For me also even if I select Airtel from list of networks to connect while in Rajasthan.. Than it does get connected to airtel 3g but keep showing vodafone as the service provider ..

I never really changed network manually. It works seamlessly for me. I have to go to Panipat once again today and I expect it to work throughout the route and in Panipat without any extra charges!

In Haryana, Airtel has roaming arrangements with both Vodafone and Idea. So if any of these two are there at a place with 3G network in Haryana, Airtel users from Delhi and other areas will be able to roam seamlessly.

But as mentioned above... Indian government/TRAI/TDSAT/Some-Asshole made such pacts illegal?

So as I understand you will try to use the 3G of your Airtel Delhi sim in Haryana where Airtel does not have 3G. You are expecting that you willBe able to use 3G and there will be no extra charge .

Even my wife didn't need to change network manually .. She too was getting 3G ...
May be it has to do with phone settings or something .. I have an iPhone with postpaid connections and she owns htc one x with prepaid connection ..
But the bottom line is tht these companies use each others 3G network .. but for those who r on roaming ..
Also I was able to connect to only airtel 3g .. but other networks didn't allowed me to connect to them .. So there certainly is some kind of agreement between these providers ..
