Hi ,My primary number is a Vodafone Post paid which is 14 yr old.I tried MNP for a secondary Vodafone Prepaid number which I use for data & voice while roaming.I gave the request to go from Vodafone Prepaid to MTNL Postpaid (All MTNLs are 3G ready for roaming on the BSNL Network without any monthly package)I gave the forms to port to MTNL on 28th April 2011, and promptly on 29th I got the Rejection message due to "The Number or range is in Contractual Obligations"Please contact 111 or visit the Vodafone Store. I tried 111, the standard policy is to put people wanting to port out on hold for 15 mins and then disconnect. I tried twice and both times this happened. Now I would like to tell everybody that the Official Standard Company Policy of Vodafone is to reject all first attempts of all Porting out Vodafone Numbers with the reason "The Number or range is in Contractual Obligations". Then the second official policy is that Customer Care people will put all MNP Port out callers on hold for 15 mins and disconnect. This policy is being implemented so that it becomes really inconvenient for users to port out, and a lot of folks wanting to port out will get fed up and give up on porting out.Anyways I visited the Vodafone Vasant Vihar store, and there were girls on all the counters. I took a token and waited for my turn. And when I got to the counter, I told the girl at the counter " I pity you guys that you have to sell your souls, and speak lies, just to keep your jobs". I asked her that is it a company policy to put people on hold for 15 mins and disconnect. I told her all over the Internet there are hundreds of users posting that they have to go through these 2 company policies that Vodafone has, first to reject all port out requests, then not take calls on Customer Care. So I asked her, "You succeeded in wasting my time and getting me here, now can I know the reason for the rejection of the Port out request".She asked me the retention question "Sir why do you want to leave Vodafone" My answer " Because I just realized that you are a company without ethics, and you have a pathetic service." She said she has put in a request and within 2 days, "The Number or range is in Contractual Obligations" will be removed for my number.I told her in clear words, if I need to come again for this to the store, then God only help them, and I left.Let's see what happens now.Styler

you got way too emotional man. the best strategy is to do the needful to disconnect yourself from the crappy service provider. the girl on the counter did not really do anything by her own free will.

I do not understand why dont people use pgportal.gov.in.It gives you direct access to co-operate people to get your problem resolved. And this route is less hectic.Day before yesterday posted a problem regarding network of tata docomo.Result - Got a call from appellate regarding the issue yesterday and today got network team at my place.

Did not even know of this link - pgportal.gov.in

First of all he is he not she. Secondly Mr. Rajat might be his subordinate as Mr. Narula looks into public grievance and if you want his number then please check status at pgportal.gov.in

I gave the forms to port to Airtel on 19th May 2011, and promptly on 20th I got the Rejection message due to "The Number or range is in Contractual Obligations"I think thats the standard rejection answer they have to not port out the subscribers

Hey i am also stuck up in VF prepaid. I applied for it on Monday, 16th May. And i got a confirmation from them on 18th, mentioning that they received my request & that within next 96 hours, they will update the status to me. Its almost 72 hours by tonight, and still no replies.

The dilemma i am in right now is:

I am on roaming, so as it is i will get double charged for calling the Customer Care (Care???)
Next, i have12-13 in my balance, coz i dont want to lose out on huge amounts of talktime. So, i cant think of calling them for a minute as well.

The site mentioned above asks for address. But my problem is, i myself am not sure as to how many days i will stay here......it all depends on the amount of work to be done by me, which is unclear at the moment.

So which address shud i give to lodge my complaint - Home or my current location :(

Whoever meets me, surely i will tell him/her never to opt for Vodafone, coz if u want to opt out of it, u will bump into a huge rock. First this pathetic service, and then reluctance to Port out a number.

And then the data comes that "Vodafone is the biggest Net Gainer in MNP Wars".....obviously, they block all Port outs & allow all port ins, they will gain the maximum.

This ordeal has got me even more determined to get out of VF by hook or by crook.

Btw, where is the "Vodafone Care" these days, who had replied to my comment on shifting to Idea?? They asked me to write to their Customer care for solving my issue.....where are they now??
