i guess that experience is left for the future. i would wait till this crappy handset works.

I have a Vodafone postpaid since 2005 and i never had any problems with billing, even if i did it was set right in the next bill without much hassle. As for the corporate plans, take a connection in your friends/relatives name, i have it in my brother's name and i get amazing corporate plans.Right now i have a plan called Enterprise 175 STD which has:V2F - 20 psV2Others - 30 psV2Landline - 60 psSMSLocal - 30 psNational - 30 psInternat. - 1.00 ReSTDV2F - 50 psV2Others - 75 psV2Landline - 1.00 RePlus i have FamilynFriends which gives me 70 percent discount on call rates for 3 numbersAnd i have a Free promo pack active for discount on Local SMS upto Rs.300 (1000 free sms)

well, if possible stay away from Vodafone postpaid. At least you can throw away the prepaid card easily if you are unhappy. In case of Postpaid it's a hectic process to get it disconnected.

Like someone mentioned above go through the vodafone sections here in this forum.50% of the threads would be complaints.

that ths main advanatage i see in keeping prepiad,thriw it whenever you want...why is it difficult to get disconnected?as far i don't make any security deposit which might be a pain in tha a** to get the refund back...or i will stop paying the monthly rental even if they don't pay heed to my request...

This plan looks good..but have you come across any 100rs plan?maybe corporate or govt?do i have to make any security deposit to get postpaid conn?

They would never give u the corporate plan even if u request them. The simplest thing you can do is to ask any of ur frnd who works in an corporate ... He can get u one.

All my frnds are of same age grp...also my dad has mtnl postpaid&he isn't interested in vodafone ATM...They used to earlier send ppl personally to offer postpaid plans which aren't easily available..i regret i should have subscribed to one of plans..:(

well, security deposit is not the issue. They will accept your application for surrender and will say your connection will be discontinued soon. Most likely they would not do it and you will be send the bill again.. You can't refuse to pay the bill because they will threaten to take you to the court. I have read complaints like this from vodafone many times..

If you are a postpaid customer and want to dump the connection then best option is to get it converted to prepaid( comparatively easy than surrendering) and then throw the card away. In that case they can't bill you because you are using prepaid.

So it's better to stay away from Postpaid if one needs to avoid the headache's which might pop up all of a sudden and these days apart from corporate plans most of the postpaid plans turns out to be costlier than prepaid.

I agree with you..but certain schemes are available for only postpaid users...i don't think the mistake is on my part when i am ready discontinue their service&yet they want to forcibly use their conn...:@

I feel almost all GSM operators are cheaters :frown:who is going to listen to aam aadmi?:|

TRAI. they are the reasons behind low prices we pay for mobile services. i guess they need to do more.

i went through the forum i have seen people suggesting that you need to tell them that you are unhappy with their services&going to disconnect...they will offer the cheapest postpaid plan..:p

Will it work?;)

Yes. That does work. That happened right with me. I once called up the CC and told them that I wanna surrender my Postpaid connection, the rep told me that someone would call me up and get the formalities done. The next day I received a call from them and then I got what I wanted. Just look at my "Before" and "After" Postpaid plans.

BEFORE :

Monthly Fixed Charges :

Rental = Rs.150 + CLI = Rs.50 = Rs.200.

Call Charges :

Local : Flat Rs.1.69 per minute to all networks.

AFTER :

Monthly Fixed Charges :

Rental = Rs.0 + CLI = Rs.49 = Rs.49.

Call Charges :

Local : Flat 80p per minute to all networks.

*P.S* : SMS charges and STD rates remained same after migration from New Talk 150 to Zero Rental Plan(LifeTime 999 Postpaid).

Note : Generally, you need to pay Rs.999 when you go for such 999 Lifetime Postpaid plans but I needn't pay that too. :happy: So at present I am quite happy with their rates, but their service still sucks....! :@

well, i have always found Prepaid's to be more profitable that postpaid s. There is a 12% service tax which is charged on postpaid bills which is a big amount in itself. Now there are lot's of full talktime offer's and other tariff reducing schemes in prepaid's.:inodding:

that 10% service tax is of course always included in prepaid cards as well. you just might not see them directly. government gets the tax no matter what the service provider tells you.
