Hi.
I need to purchase a washing machine for a family of 4 which can wash curtains, bedsheet as well.
Please provide suggestions on below points.
1- Should I purchase semi automatic or automatic? Which one is better in terms of cleaning, water consumption etc.
2- If I opt for automatic, which one should I go for ? Top load or front load ? I reasearched online that front load provide cleaner wash. Is there really much difference ?

You are welcome to add additional points .
Budget is less than 20k

nah i was just curious to see how your first experience went with a front load assuming it is your first. :)

Experience is okayish.
Wash cycle of 1+ hour was a surprise but considering it takes that much time to wash + dry , its okay.
I guess Leaving the front door open after wash for moisture drying would definitely invite rats.
Haven't fiddled with heater or steam function yet.
Wash quality is Okayish ( not comparable to hand wash ofcourse).
Machine is quite silent during the wash cycle , a little bit noise during the rinse.
Front load is quite heavy compared to semi automatics and along with the inlet water adaptor restrictions, you lose the portability compared to semi.

One more point. Don't buy heavy appliances from Flipkart.
Their delivery agents are so rude and unprofessional that they don't even deliver to the floor where you are staying despite mentioning complete address in the order.
Had to pay private labour for lifting to the second floor.

Right. Models above have a button for turbo washing that reduces wash time by around half by throwing water from a nozzle in door. I can't see it in panel on this model in the blurry zoomed in image on Flipkart. Not that it really does anything except gives an impression of a faster washing cycle. I almost always used it coz my wash load was not really heavy in all cases. My top load has a similar option but I avoid it coz it seems to be quite useless here. It just feels that using a faster cycle would result in more soap leftover in cloths 🤧

I really miss the smaller rinse cycle on front loads. Adding an extra cycle didn't take much time or used a lot of water. On top load it does that 😭

For smaller loads you can just use the quick wash cycle.
