Weak signals STB problem

First of all I am very much glad to be a part of this wonderful forum,thanks Admin for allowing me in.Let me go straight on my problem.Few channels get freeze in my dish tv hence I decided to do check up,I used to have my own service station in good old days for tv and vcr hence I am little capable of doing small jobs like this.I go step by step describing my problem.1-Checked signal strength it was 56,not good.2-Went up with the portable t.v,attached it with stp and started aligning dish,max signal strength I got was 58,there is nothing in line of sight of my dish,all is clear upto horizon.3-Then I took my stb to my dad's place and attached it with other dish,same strengh I got 56. By doing above 1-2-3 steps I realised that problem is with STB and not with dish setup and its direction.If I use other STB of my dad with my dish signal strength shoots to 70+ in my place.So I decided to download new file using utility from setup menu and try lady luck.Now my question what is the size of this file?my stb is On for almost 40 minutes and I still get a message of downloading on the screen.May I request experts to throw some light on this weak signal problem?By the way my stb is Kaon.Thanks and waiting for help/suggestion,thank you and may God bless all members here.

Downloading does not take more than 2-3 minutes. By seeing all these problems, it seems there is some problem with your STB. Better get that checked.:cool2:

Well if you are getting more then 50% of signal strenth then its more then enough and you will get good quality picture and audio.

SaurabhQuestion is in other stb signal strength is above 70 and in mine it is at 56,though other stb is not kaon but zenega.

And how much is the signal strenght of your STB when connected to other tv. That means if you interchanges both the stb's then what are the signal strenght.

Probe is not in any tv tuner or avg section,I want to know why I get low strength in kaon stb,hope you get my point.btw signal quality is 77.I used to get 77 and 88 previously but now it droped to 56 and 77.
And how much is the signal strenght of your STB when connected to other tv. That means if you interchanges both the stb's then what are the signal strenght.
