webserver setup(port forward)

Hello,
I am trying to setup a webserver and a ftp server and i am not able to do so. i tried many website tutorials but my problem persists. Some one plz help me. I could setup a webserver but only i was able to view it. I tested it using a website tester but it says "401 HTTP unauthorised".
If someone is willing to help me plz add me on msn or google or yahoo.

if you still have problems, mention whether you are using apache or IIS..Also ensure that you have port forwarded port 80 and 21 for webserver and ftp server respectively!!

i am using IIS. i have forwarded the ports, but it doesnt work

confirm that port 80 and 21 is opened using this online port scanner Online Port Scanner | Port Scan | Port Scanning | Portscan Tool

21 is unnecessary if you are not using ftp! Just forward port 80 ! are you getting http :// localhost or http :// localIP if yes, try http :// your public ip (what you get from whatismyip. com)try your friend to check from other network ! there wont be any issues.. You can even create an address with dynamic Dns, dynamicdns. org
