So, a longer post on the Coway Airmega 150. It appears to be very popular in India. I was going through a reddit thread about a guy who made his own diy purifier using an exhaust fan and people were all in praise about this model. One guy even went ahead and said that this is the best there is.
It is pretty good I suppose. It is currently placed in a room where the door to outside remains open for hours through the day. So, it is struggling hard currently. Stays on red for most periods. Haven’t seen it on blue much.
Airflow is good. Sensor seems to be working fine after couple of years of usage. Pretty silent on sleep and speed 1. Gets a bit loud on speed 2.
I think @anmolbhard004 bought it last year.
Here is a photo of the filter I changed last month:
Need to clean the carbon filter of course.
Air flow is great so filter is fine. Probably won't replace it till next year.
The problem with hepa filters like these is that they become dark fast and it gets kind of confusing if they need replacement. This is probably why so many companies use circular filters with multiple layers which basically hides the hepa between layers so filter does not look trashed after many months of usage.
Basically, yeah... It is a solid model to go for. I just personally do not like it lol.
