What Air Purifier to buy?

So, a longer post on the Coway Airmega 150. It appears to be very popular in India. I was going through a reddit thread about a guy who made his own diy purifier using an exhaust fan and people were all in praise about this model. One guy even went ahead and said that this is the best there is.

It is pretty good I suppose. It is currently placed in a room where the door to outside remains open for hours through the day. So, it is struggling hard currently. Stays on red for most periods. Haven’t seen it on blue much.

Airflow is good. Sensor seems to be working fine after couple of years of usage. Pretty silent on sleep and speed 1. Gets a bit loud on speed 2.

I think @anmolbhard004 bought it last year.

Here is a photo of the filter I changed last month:

Need to clean the carbon filter of course.

Air flow is great so filter is fine. Probably won't replace it till next year.

The problem with hepa filters like these is that they become dark fast and it gets kind of confusing if they need replacement. This is probably why so many companies use circular filters with multiple layers which basically hides the hepa between layers so filter does not look trashed after many months of usage.

Basically, yeah... It is a solid model to go for. I just personally do not like it lol.

model is out of stock I will keep an eye on this. Seems like good value for money in longterm with supported replacement filters.

Why phillips has to scam customers with new models every year. Base tech stays same filter+fan.

Got reply from cuckoo team filter will be between 3-4k currently not available on website, you have to contact them. Most likely it's not available at all as they launched recently this model.

It's a good deal at 12k plus free filter after 1 year worth 3-4k. So net 8-9k for a big purifier.

I will check after reaching home and update if I purchase it. Lets hope the sale continues.

Bought sqair model with carbon and hepa filter for 10k. I think the right price will be 7k because it's just a fan 🤷 . With sensors n all companies are selling at quite lower price.

But anyway before I could decide, models will become out of stock and winter season will be over. So bought the squair one.

Really liked the cuckoo offer but not convinced about after sales support and replacement filters when they cannot list it on website with pricing.

And coway 150 is out of stock from everywhere. The aim model doesn't have good reviews. Don't be confused with Amazon mixing reviews of different models.

so how has it been lol? disappointed? does the job? i mean without aqi monitor, you really can't tell how well it is working. though i suppose your Philips can do it for you.

yeah still testing will continue to use this season.

I think it is doing the job, air does feel a bit lighter/easier to breath. Definitely it quickly removes any kind of food or other smell from air, so I am assuming it is filtering enough air.
Some sort of indicator will definitely help just for mental peace 😅 even just rgb lights.

Impressed with the fan motor, its quite heavy. A bit difficult to believe it only uses 20 watt or so at speed 2.

I am not using phillips, waiting for coway 150 back in stock or cuckoo Respure. cuckoo is again available on Amazon at good price and does have rgb only indicator ;) only if they could assure about filter availability.

Phillips makes good lasting products but they forget about spare parts/refills, thats my experience from using their trimmers.
