What Are the Benefits of Porting from Jio to Vi? Is a Free Recharge Included?

Currently I don't like how Jio keeps increasing its prices and removing plans I use. More importantly, I prefer fixed monthly data instead of the daily 1.5 GB limit. Since I mostly use WiFi, I hardly consume mobile data on most days, but when I do, it usually exceeds 1.5 GB in a single day.

I noticed that VI offers a bonus 10 GB every month (VI Guarantee), which would be perfect for me.

On YouTube, people often say we can get a free recharge if we port through sellers under the tent. I don’t have any such sellers near me, so I can’t verify. Can anyone confirm if this is actually true? Do we really get a free recharge for a month when we port?

If this is not true I will probably just port online.

i ported to vi experience was good ordered sim online on vi website with mnp with1 yr pack and Vi person gave 5g ready sim came took photo on mobile, verified aadhar and gave sim at home was activated in 3-4days after porting network changeover happens during midnight hours the vi person will take the porting code and deliver the new sim.

Wouldn't it vary from location to location?

Even I am looking to port out of Airtel due to network issues and Jio facing same issues.

Though I am Not sure how VI will perform in my area as I am relatively new here.

Not sure tbh. I never ported my number but in Youtube when I was searching they were some videos about portinig offers.

Even I am not 100% sure about VI. In Bangalore the coverage is good (both from NPerf app) and friends experience. But not sure if it's the same in my native. NPerf coverage in native is quite less. I am just thinking about porting for 3 months to see the experience but not yet fully decided (I am lazy to port tbh).

All I care about is 10 - 15 Mbps speed and calls without dropping. Just wish Jio made a resonable priced plan with fixed data or data rollover. The 899 plan also exists in Jio so I am not yet fully decided to port to Vi. The 899 plan comes similar in daily cost to 799 plan and we get 20 Gb bonus data.

10-15mbps is minimum on vi airtel could not even give 8 mbps in my location in 4g complaints dont work in airtel fed up and ported out vi is quite good for nomal whatapp browsing and upi payments and video calls my honest take. network quality in VI i really liked i remember vi customer care requesting me not to port to airtel 3 years back wish i to them listened then.

i got the 3599 plan with 2 gb per day.

also 3499 with 1.5gb per day is there

all annual plans

any post paid costs 520 rs with gst X12 months comes to 6500 rs annually i can buy two prepaid numbers for 1 year with that amount.with 3400 recharge and 1.5 gb per day unlimited calls.

i dont think anybody can generally use 1.5gb data per day on mobile unless on hotspot connection.
If you don't have broadband it's very easy tbh. Like Crunchyroll 1080p anime video for 23 mins is 1.4 Gb. I know people using around 5 - 6 Gb per day in 5G as they don't have broadband.

Decided against porting. So Jio still has the 799 plan I use and to port to VI I had to take first month recharge of 299 plan. I wanted that first month to either be free or I wanted to directly select the 799 plan of VI. Going with 299 and then 799 would make VI more expensive. Since that's not possible decided to stay with Jio.

Wish VI and other companies allow us to port directly to any plan rather than a few specified plans.

Btw if you are willing to take yearly plan then VI does give 500 discount for yearly plan when you port making yearly plan cost 3200 rs.
