what does order status: open mean?

I have been using BSNL broadband connection since 4 months under the H250 plan. i have applied for a plan change to 500c on 31march2008. They said the plan will be effective from 1st April.

Now when i open the usage detail portal, There is a link by name myorders. in that the plan name is given as 500c. but the order status is given as open. what does this mean i am in H250 or H500c?
 
Can't believe BSNL changed the plan on the same day...please confirm by calling customer care before using night unlimited... As I am an old bsnl user, so i am unable to tell what order status as open mean.Wait for some expert to help...
 
I think if on the portal its written plan as 500c then its might have been changed. Cant say for sure...
 
i think provisioned means plan is changed & bill will come as per changed plan.open means its still not finalized meaning bill is not decided.i maybe wrong but this is what i think.

you are in 500c. me too got this message yesterday. today i am in future dated status. even i too got this doubt and called exchange. they confirmed my plan as ul900 plus.

Can't believe BSNL changed the plan on the same day...please confirm by calling customer care before using night unlimited...

i have called tollfree on march 25 and asked to change my plan from H500 to UL900+. they gave docket number so i left on journey, the same day. on 1st april, i called again to confirm whether plan changed or not. those idiots neglected my request and not able to change plan. they said they will be able to change my plan on may 1st :@ got frustrated and went to local exchange for disconnection of bb and telephone. but one person in exchange helped me to change my plan. yesterday evening my plan changed to ul900 plus.:thumbsup:
 
@vissu,if your order status is future dated my suggestion is wait for a few days before using as unlimited.as far as i know order status must change to provisioned(highest probability) or open from any other status.

will this result in billing?:confused: but exchange people confirmed of plan change and told me, can use it with no doubt.
 
let me tell you about my case---i applied for home 500.all local exchange records say i got home 500 but then 1 employee forwarded my details as home 250 to bangalore.i got billing according to home 250.went to accounts officer & he told me not to worry so i started using it as home 500(2-8AM).after 3 months i got Rs.44000 bill & DE(senior most official in a district after DGM) said it was my mistake to use this much even after knowing i accidentally got home 250.since both my parents are govt. officials & my father is a senior one for that & when i jokingly said i will go to court he immediately corrected my bill knowing i am not just some ordinary person with no knowledge/connections.he knew that i have both time & resources to take this matter to court & they will lose the case for sure.moral of the story is never ever trust any verbal assurance from a govt. official unless you are well connected/well knowledgeable & the person giving the assurance knows that.in my case even account officer now admits that if i hadn't talked to DE first letting him know about my parents the matter would surely be much more complicated.from my experience & from some other users i again say that the order status must change to either "provisioned"(in my case this is the only option i have seen till now) or "changed"(not sure about this) but definitely not anything else if you want to be sure about correct billing.

Just for information i will tell my experiences. as u know my order status is open.

I have called the local JTO and he has said that i am still in 250. Then i have told him that i requested for a plan change on 31march and concerned person told me that it will be changed the next day itself. The JTO was in doubt and he told me to go the same customer care center to get it clarified.

I called 1500. and the response was the same ( u are still in 250 plan any doubts go to customer care center).

so i went to the customer care center. and the official inchage told me that your order is in A status, so u can use the changed plan. i told the official that 1500 people told me that i am still in 250, she replied harshly They know nothing if u donot believe me what can i do?.

then i called the JTO and told him. He replied may be its not updated yet.

so yesterday i again went to BSNL customer care center but went to the enquiry section this time. he has seen that my request is in A status and call higher official about that and told me that it will be changed to confirm status within 4 days. Then i asked what about billing i have already used around 1.5GB. He told me that the higher official is saying that u will be taken under the changed plan only, but i am not able to tell you this confidently.

i called the 1800******* no yesterday night, she replied me that u are using form january and u should use a plan for atleast 3 months before converting so your plan will be converted in the first week of may. This shocked me but i have immediately realized that by march i have finished 3 months (jan,feb, mar) and before i could finish my sentence she has cut the phone. i recalled many times to the same no but was unable to contact the operator.

that was a shock for me as one can expect the around 1.5 GB was downloaded in 2 days by me. and the frustating thing is that none of the torrents have been completely downloaded. Now with this doubt in mind i have to wait until the next month to restart them.

Total confusion and nobody was able to give a sure shot answer yes it will be converted or no it will not be converted.

any further developments, i will inform.

Is there anybody who has his status as open and billed for the changed plan?
