What happened to routing?

Can you please share trace? It could be a non-routing issue as well. I recently reported to friends at Airtel about Noida Speedtest server being actually in Bangalore. So they tagged server incorrectly in Ookla.

try running speed test in browser with inspect and find out the actual source of traffic. Next trace to that.

@RKhan21 Looks strange. I cross checked - the IP is indeed in Chennai and one can reach it in 2ms from within Chennai e.g

traceroute to 152.52.30.118 (152.52.30.118), 20 hops max, 60 byte packets
1 169.254.158.58 (169.254.158.58) 1.645 ms 1.576 ms
2 ae11.dar02.che01.networklayer.com (169.38.118.132) 1.252 ms 1.231 ms
3 ae9.cbs01.sr01.che01.networklayer.com (169.53.17.191) 7.551 ms 7.536 ms
4 bb.11.35a9.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com (169.53.17.187) 1.363 ms 1.344 ms
5 125.16.7.65 (125.16.7.65) 1.833 ms 1.991 ms
6 116.119.36.57 (116.119.36.57) 2.064 ms 2.049 ms
7 152.52.30.118 (152.52.30.118) 2.030 ms *

I cross checked hop 4 is also in Chennai - 61.95.206.49 and Chennai is certainly large enough city that traffic should be terminating locally. speedtestshm1.airtel.in - shm here I guess is very likely referring to Airtel Santhome - their known DC as well as cable landing station (PeeringDB)

Quick followup:
1. What is hop 1 and 2 in your traces? Is hop 1 Airtel CPE here or your own router?
2. Output of https://redirector.googlevideo.com/report_mapping?di=no
3. You are within Chennai city? If not, which city?

@Anurag Bhatia Yeah hop 1 is my own router and hop 2 is Airtel's Gateway.
2. Got this output 2401:4900:884c:a9fb:667d:e59e => bharti-maa7 (2401:4900:884c:8000::/49)
3. Yes I live in main city and Santhome area is just around 15 Km from here.

CF warp (India) started using Sify as main upstream replacing the airtel maybe because of the routing & latency problem

Here is the traceroute to he.net through CF Zerotrust (MAA)

Currently I don't have access to old ISP that connects to BOM colocation. I will try to get it soon
