There are 11 companies bidding for Broadband wireless spectrum auction scheduled for 9th April. Competition will heat up with the entrance of new players who will concentrate ONLY on broadband service, that is if a new company other than the existing established players is able to win the slot in auction. I am hoping for a price war in broadband market within 1 year from now and hoping to see a 2 mbps connection with liberal FUP of like 100GB for under Rs 1000 by March, 2011.I would like MTNL to come out with plans having 8 mbps connections within a year from now to counter broadband wireless. price of 256 kbps UL should come down to under Rs 300 per month.

2 mbps unlimited is already 1899 in Delhi , 4 mbps unlimited is 3499

Right now they should double the speed from 2Mbps to 4Mbps for limited based plans that includes DSL_NU_849 plan. This is realistic now but from 2011 we can see fall in tariffs after auction of BWA from govt. I feel unlimited 2Mbps plan at Rs.1500 is quite possible next year. Let see...

The real revolution in Indian broadband market can happen only with lower prices of entry level unlimited connection for aam admi.

So, I am hoping to see a 256kbps UL connection for under Rs 300 per month within next 12 months.
