What would you do with a 100mbit/s or 1Gbit/s connection?

Yeah i meant that only.....per GB is reasonable but the flat rates are still on a higher side! So i wud have to wait for the pricing to come down to some xtent!

@mg did u get ISP license?

You weren't following the launch at Diwali, I assume?

No, we ended up piggybacking to get the thing up and running. Yes, the license has been applied for. Yes, I know by approximately when it will be granted. I've already written and stamped the cheques and should be (almost literally) waltzing in to my bank within the next 2-3 weeks or so.

Flat rate at this speed at that price... hard to say. I would say give it a few months so we know what traffic patterns are like and then we'll probably make some adjustments.

Anyway, this is NOT a Hayai thread, so... let's keep this on-topic.

Humm i was following disappointed too at that time.

Seems ur website is not loading fully. Or is it my ISP problem

It's not a Hayai thread, it's a general question to everyone, irrespective of which ISP they may or may not choose in the future.

One day I was searching and going through all old threads..I found this one and posted.

heh..When and where said "its hayai thread"? Its you who assumed that I am talking about Hayai.

u told indirectly it belongs to hayai. u may say no never mind

1Gbps? well, I was a long time dial up user, who cautiously moved to 256kbps broadband and it was doubled to 512kbps by BSNL. hmmm. 100Mbps. I don't really need it. A reliable flat 2Mbps UL will be suffice for me, if possible 8Mbps!

Perhaps this post https://broadband.forum/broadband-in-india/62837-would-you-do-100mbit-s/23/#post589254 would illustrate the point: the point of the speed is to ensure that whatever you are doing is available rapidly and without having to wait.

Even at 100mbit/s, I watch most Youtube videos at 360 or 480 resolution because most of the time it's just embedded in a browser window... but... I can take solace in knowing that 1080 is there and will work smoothly if I want to watch something in fullscreen.

As far as planning for capacity is concerned, if I wanted to download say 300GB per month, I wouldn't buy a 1mbit/s connection, I would get 10mbit/s or better - and so on and so forth until you reach the limits of the hardware and your hard-drive space.
