That mean every company that provides customer care whatsapp number or tries to connect with their customers via WhatsApp helps in spreading our data wider!!!!. I wonder if banks will do a rethink, one definitely will not. Its for the customer to wake up & decide for themselves.

I have so many commercial updates on my WhatsApp from Eureka Forbes, Star Health Insurance, Citibank, Maruti Insurance, etc.
Should I block them all?

I am not sure if marketing sms sent to us are tracked. What I am sure is when we initiate a connection with say companies like icici/hdfc bank, jio (which offer this facility) for whatever reason will definitely be tracked as they are more specific in info for milking.

Today Again got a notice popup from WhatsApp to agree to new TnC. Seems like they are more desperate than me to agree to conditions.
If this things happens every 2-3 rd day, anyone would get pissed off.

I am more worried with fact that not only they would have phone number, but our photo as well. As I keep photo and last seen status to my contacts only. Not sure if banks sending alerts on WhatsApp are counted as contacts.

I was thinking of buying Alexa or a Google Home . I ditched the idea after watching this. If you guys know a Home assistant which runs on a locally hosted server and is Open source , please share it

Not sure what to do about WhatsApp myself. Facebook and Instagram etc can be avoided relatively easily but WhatsApp is used very frequently. I have tried convincing my friends to install Signal but they end up not using it.

Yeah there are a lot of complaints and criticism regarding Terms of Use in other countries . They should make it easily readable. I thought of reading that Whatsapp thing knowing they will have some nasty things and opened the Privacy policy and Agreement . It was very long , closed it and searched for its summary. I mean the company knows people will not read that , and will eventually agree .

They never put that in Layman's terms
I think Google made some attempts in doing this
