WhatsApp is a mess now, spam, commercial messages, unknown callers are increasing day by day. In my opinion, they really need to force all users to switch to usernames and then give an option if they want to be reachable using their mobile numbers.

Second, they need to think about storing everything on cloud, facing lots of message syncing issues on primary device when messages are accessed first from an alternate device.

Not gonna happen, FB/Meta paid billions exactly to get the goldmine of phone numbers so they can monetise it back for maximum ROI.

At this rate when you open WA in the future, you will have to see a 10 second advertisement. They won't give you the "skip" option.
