DoT mandates SIM binding for WhatsApp, Telegram and other OTT apps to check online fraud

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), which issued the directions on November 28, asked the OTT firms to implement SIM binding within 90 days. Failure on the part of the OTT firms to implement the mandated SIM binding would attract penal provisions.

Meta just killed native WhatsApp on Windows 11, now it opens WebView, uses 1GB RAM all the time

Windows 11 has just got a 'major' upgrade, and you're probably going to hate it because it uses 1-2GB RAM all the time.

I got the updated app today, and already it is consuming more than double the RAM of the native app. No option to go back. If anyone knows of any alternative that would work on Windows, let me know.

yeah its the new one and appears to be hilariously slow compared to what it was previously. glad i use whatsapp rarely.

Tbh I used to think I installed whatsapp using their regular installer. Did it become a store app on its own is a mystery?

quite possible the app had an internal update system.
