Which gaming console is suitable for a 6 year old...

Few years ago, the decision was simple. Get the Nintendo Wii. Today I am not so sure. The idea is to get a console that a six year old can play. Gesture based gaming. Something that requires movement. I am not sure which console is better for such a requirement... PS4 or Xbox One. Of course the pricing of the games does not help the cause. Recommendations and feedback is much appreciated!

PS: The console is not exactly for the kid. The idea is to have a console that even the kid can enjoy with dad and mom.

oh yeah forgot about that. xbox live is required to play online for xbox one whereas PS4 is free to play.

You need PS+ to play online on PS4.

okay. ps+ is not required for ps3. Looks like it is required for ps4. but it also comes with ps3 benefits as well as free ps4 AAA quality games. So yeah, @chromaniac you need to buy ps+ subscription also

Xbox One arrived today. Turned it on. 500MB Update. Installed it. Restarted it. 1.1GB update. Downloading. I wonder how many more updates are coming before the console is actually usable. Even Windows OS is better.

On average, xbone games cost around 3500 bucks, damn. Eight gen consoles are so weak for the prices they charge. They way tech is advancing, I'd be surprised if they last for next three or four years.
