@Virag84 what function are you measuring this router on? For e.g. WiFi, stability etc? All ISP supplied routers are ordinary in wifi performance and will give sub par coverage in a larger home/flat. It's best you set it up as a bridge modem and use your own wifi routers for best results.

I have a Nokia from both Airtel and TPF and I am not changing them. Rock stable and it has features that others don't incl. hardware buttons to switch LEDs on/off, or wifi on/off.

Sercomm ONT is a very poor performing router but it should be your choice as you can enable bridge mode without Airtel's help on your own in the router settings. For other ONTs provided by Airtel, bridge mode is locked and you will have a hard time getting bridge mode enabled from Airtel considering their current level of CC support.
Get a TP-Link Archer C6/A6 or Tenda AC-10 if you are on a tight budget and connect it with the ONT put in bridge mode. You will get better latency, better multiple client handling capabilities, better range and better security. Basically you will be able to get more performance and more control over your connection.

@Zilork first check what firmware version are you on. If you are on 3.9, then you can't enable bridge mode on your own. If you are on a previous version, navigate to the WAN settings under network and create a new WAN profile. Bind any of the LAN port and then select bridge instead of route. Choose PPP . Enter VLAN ID as 100 and PRI as 0. Hit save and you're good to go.
Now connect your D-Link router's WAN port to that particular LAN port on the ONT which you bind to bridge. Dial PPPoE from your router user name as your DSL [email protected] and your account number as your password.
That's pretty much it.

On the WAN Settings page I don't have any option to create a new profile. Am I out of luck here? Any options?

Yup you're on the latest firmware. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do.

I was able to do the inspect element trick to enable the greyed out settings and enable bridge mode using your advice. Thanks a bunch. Much appreciated.

On a related note, how do these profiles work? I ask cause there were a couple of profiles named internet and Voice. Can I manage these profiles to further lock down the device to secure it?

Don't mess with those profiles. Leave them as it is or your internet may stop working.
