I came across the following article which claims that Airtel is providing a Wi-Fi router which is capable of delivering gigabit speeds over Wi-Fi along with their gigabit extreme fibre plan. However, there is no mention of the model of the router provided. Any clues?

Anyone on the forum got the Dasan ONT that is being offered with the gigabit plans?
How is you experience? Short term review?

Based on what I read here, not sure if Airtel is still giving the DASAN H680GM-A (6 antennas) MIMO ONT .

Its Nokia G-2425g-A for anyone switching to 1 Gbps or for a new subscriber of 1 Gbps too.

But based on my experience, NOKIA ONT could only deliver Max 860 Mbps over LAN and around 400-450 Mbps over 5ghz 802.11ac Wifi.

I fail to understand, how is this a Giga internet??. Unless they are using "upto" to their advantage (which could also mean 10Mbps speed is also OK under Giga plans)

After doing some more research using Wifi analyzer tool, I am sorry to break this news to all the Airtel Giga plan users with Nokia G-2425g-A ONT.

This Nokia ONT's wifi capability will not let you go past 866Mbps over wifi, period. This is technically the max speed it supports over 5ghz 802.11ac, 80Mhz bandwidth. You need ONT to support 160Mhz to achieve Giga speeds over Wifi.

So if you are on the Giga plan, please ask for a change of ONT. Otherwise, this amounts to shortchanging, no one uses wired internet at home at least.
