Thats what i said earlier if it goes to ESS its the best thing it could happen to us as its the best telecasters among the worst...

Seriously speaking 90% it will go to sonys new sports channel .. the very fact they are launching a full time sports channel means they have already had a under the carpet deal with BCCI .. they wont launch a full time new sports channel for just ipl ..

We will end up watching Lagaan & Chak De India, the day before an important Indian match.BTW, Where is Sidhu & Dean Jones? Missing them :D

Yeah, it does get irritating having to get multiple channels to get all the matches. (Pay for them & then watch stupid ads)

HE ASKED ABOUT SEHWAG...........not about IPL.......
He asked about Sehwag playing in I P L, while he was rested for Asia cup due to injury.
"That onus is on the Board. It's the Board of Control for Cricket in India who has sold it to the sponsors, who are paying billions and billions for Sehwag, for Sachin Tendulkar, for Harbhajan Singh. So don't blame the cricketer alone," said Sidhu.
"I'll tell you why the board cannot say ... because it has taken money from the sponsors and that money is not a small bit of money, it's billions.
"Let's take an example ... you have signed a movie with actor Akshay Kumar and later on you told me that in place of Akshay some Jagjit Singh from Connaught Place will act. No one knows who Jagjit Singh is. No one knows who the hero is. The sponsors have paid you the money because they want to see Akshay Kumar and he is the big draw ... he is the magnet, so you can't take him away," Sidhu explained.
In the wake of the controversial rotational policy during the tour Down Under, Sehwag's name did not figure in the Asia Cup squad and that created a furore as the selection committee chief Kris Srikkanth failed to clear whether the opener was dropped or rested for the Asia Cup.
While the chief selector insisted that Sehwag had been 'rested' due to a sore shoulder, the opener said he had back spasms and had opted for rest as per the physio's advice.
Sidhu said it's a mutual symbiosis where both the BCCI and the cricketer benefit playing in the IPL.

India news: BCCI gets four bids for cricket rights in India | India Cricket News | ESPN Cricinfo

The BCCI has received at least four bids for the broadcast, internet and mobile rights to cricket in India for the period July 2012 - March 2018, ESPNcricinfo has learned. The companies believed to have submitted bids are ESPN Star Sports* (ESS), Multi-Screen Media (Sony), Bennett Coleman, which owns the Times of India, and a consortium involving TV-18 and Reliance.

According to market sources, Bennett Coleman are likely to bid for the internet and mobile rights rather than the television rights. The company currently owns the internet rights for the IPL in conjunction with Nimbus.
