Windows 10

Any idea what is that svchost.exe downloads even after I manually completing "Windows Update"? NetWorx reports it downloaded 1.48GB data *today-alone* but uploaded just 1MB. I already turned off windows update sharing to other PCs. If I enable metered connection then it stops. Google search suggests to disable BITS service.

I updated it on immediate next day of the release. Is there a way to verify the complete windows update list other than looking through Update & Security -> Advanced Options -> View update History? It doesn't show anything meaningfull except Windows Defender updates, Malicious Tool updates and couple of cumulative updates. Nothing convinces >1.5GB of data usage.

FUD article. Sure it appears to be an opt-out setting. Users can definitely opt out. And of course, the sad thing is that people need to know about these things as Microsoft is not being very forthcoming with them. Best for people on metered connections is to set their connections as metered. Not an option if you are connected through ethernet sadly.

Thats bad .I have connected my PC via Ethernet of the router where my 4g data card is attached. I have pathetic data cap 10GB right now.

Looks like I need to put off my windows 10 upgrade.

BTW , I bought it for 8000. downloaded the ISO in my office

Right. People connecting to their routers through cables on FUP connections are in for big surprises in the coming months. I am guessing Microsoft would be forced to issue a patch allowing folks like us to set ethernet connections as metered.

So even after a clean install.. Mail app doesnt work.. same error & also Camera App doesnt work..My default camera app which came with the laptop youcam is not supported....
