I am trying file sharing between my laptop and pc both with windows 7.

I created a Homegroup on one and joined it through the laptop, password details all set perfectly !

The shared files are visible on the other pc but with a hassle....."you do not have the permissions to view the files, contact your network administrator" !

WTF, its driving me crazy anything I try simply does not work !

I know man .. even we (my friend and I) tried to same thing with this laptop and my pc but same thing gets displayed. It was so simple and easy with windows xp.

So finally what we did was shared some drives on both with full read/write and whichever computer it was available we either "copied to OR copied from" one place to another.

I am also looking for a simpler and better solution for this problem.

Check out the following link ..

i have personally seen that having account passwords on both the machine helps in file sharing... guest based login give me a lot of problems.
