I already have a good Asus RT-N16 with Tomato USB on it as a primary router. I needed another one to extend the Wireless N range to different floor of the house (have CAT cabling in between).

Would I be better off ordering this one from FlipKart ?

if u use this one u will get more wifi range then asus ...may be this one all u need

^^ I did. Also after that switched to DD-wrt. Still no go.

Just a tip, nas seems to work better on the stock firmware on Asus routers.

Had tried on stock, upgraded to latest and then installed ddwrt. Nothing works. Will be troubleshooting this weekend.

Try Tomato USB - Shibby or Toastman release. Works great.
