Wireless Router

A friend is looking for a wireless router with good range and performance. He plans to keep the router on the first floor. He needs coverage on the ground floor and roof. I think his house is what we call 350 gaj. I think he would be fine for something under 2.5-3K though cheaper would be nice. He is currently on Airtel but is considering shifting to Reliance to save money on my recommendation (he lives in my sector only).

i have this modem+router combo from D-Link and it doesnt have option to check SNR and attenuation thing i hear about on these forums.so i was wondering if it is considered to be a lame brand

Assuming you dont have too much interference, you can stick to 2.4GHz band for better range. Stick to a channel that is less crowded or unused in the neighborhood.

He currently has a shitty router provided by Airtel that does not even provide coverage outside his room.
