I've been hearing few negative stuff about XenForo. Everything is not OK it seems.

have no idea. 1 year of my license is over. i would have to pay 40 dollars to get newer updates. have no interest right now.

Mike has started a new photography business. No updates from developers from last 2 months.

Professionalism seems to be missing from Xenforo. Although Present Version is powerful enough but people had been hearing since years about 2.0. Has Mike left Xenforo or started an alternate business ??

i have simply stopped going to their forum. what i find are fanboys with very little criticism. vb forums on the other hands are full of criticism with developers not giving a shit. both the projects worry so much. i want a software that is as refined as wordpress. funny enough you cannot get anything like wordpress in the forum market. bbpress is too basic.

How good is IP.Boards ?

they turn out to be pretty expensive with individual components sold separately. this forum started on IPB free edition. i used their paid version once it crossed the limitations of the free version.

search engine rankings etc. only improved after i moved to vb and installed vbseo. before that this forum did not do that well. i guess things have improved as google does a much better job at indexing content compared to back then.

but i do not see ipb as a good alternative for this forum. it is just not popular amongst the larger boards.

this is addition to usd 50 per year for updates.

sure i do not have any need for any of the optional components. but neowin seems to be the only board i visit that is powered by their platform. and i do not like what they have really.
