Yahoo! Mail Updates

Even I got a similar mail in my GMail account, rather surprising since Google otherwise has a pretty efficient spam filter.

If this is true then I would call it as "stupid yahoo"Gmail just now messed WHOLE compose box thing. (which is partial copy of yahoo mail's compose). Why shud yahoo copy gmail?Hope they atleast keep keyboard shortcuts. I heavily use keyboard shortcuts in yahoo mail..

Yahoo doesn't use HTTPS encryption technology to protect the privacy of it's users. This means every email sent to and from a Yahoo! address in a web browser is out in the open, unprotected from hackers, governments, or anyone who uses widely available tools to break into these vulnerable email accounts.

Yahoo! has made promises for years that they would fix the problem, but have nothing to show for it. But with a new CEO and board trying to put their stamp on the organisation, this is our moment to ask Yahoo!:

Never say never.

Really, Yahoo? Stop playing with our safety

Article is either very old OR written with wrong intent OR written by person who has not cared to verify anything.

Here is screen shot of option to enable HTTPS.. (it has been there from ages now)

I knew that wud be answer.Reading at article... tell me honestly.. what a normal person will think? That yahoo does not have SSL at all. It does not even care to mention that Yahoo has such option.Clearly article is very OLD or aimed on purpose to harm Yahoo by hiding facts.

so what is the fact? yahoo does not default by https. how many people you think would know what https is? how many would bother to turn it on? yahoo is not a small company. gmail has https for so long. twitter has it for a while now. facebook is now rolling out https for everyone. what is stopping yahoo? twitter and facebook were/are both criticized for not having https by default and they have/are fixing that thing. yahoo on the other hand has not shown any intention of doing the same. the petition is aimed at delivering this message to the new management under marissa mayer. turn on https by default because email security is critical. just that. this is not a marketing campaign by microsoft or google. this is a plead considering how popular yahoo mail is. and how much online tracking is done throughout the world. keep on looking for a conspiracy theory in this petition. fact is, yahoo is doing a poor job of securing their users. period.
