Rumored Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

I guess they are leaving out the big cities intentionally as there will be no takers for such an expensive service with poor latency and other parameters. Jio would not be able to stand competition but there is lot of scope in tier 3 & 4 cities....

poor latency? Its a fiber network and said friend is enjoying 100mbps speed without any problems.

Latency is not related to the speed. We can get 1gbps even with poor latency. Ideally, the latency within our country wouldn't cross 3ms on a fiber connection.

Latency can be measured using ping command. You may ask your friend about the ping times to various google servers such as 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 or g.co . There were already plenty of discussion on how poor those ping times were on Jiofiber network. Of course, it may have changed now.

Most gamers are concerned about latency (apart from the speed of the connection).

Also even if your city is mentioned it doesn't mean your location will be covered. Its still not city wide yet.

Just seeing your forum stats, I'm shocked to know that "Latency is a parameter of speed for you".

In Layman Language, Latency = Ping.

Jio's Ping is 50-100ms being on Fiber. That's what is the biggest disadvantage of their network.

And, I have seen people using 1 Gbps connection of Jio. It's not 100% 1Gbps all the time either.

Airtel, Hathway and Excitel provides latency as low as 10ms. Who wants 50-100ms?

My Airtel 4G is 20ms. Fiber? Jio is not so true Fiber.

Just to add this, never ping Google or any common wellknown host ever like Facebook or Amazon. They are optimized and working best from their side to have it top-notch. Always check your latency to non-common servers.

Like if you check your latency to the Airtel Servers from Hathway, it will be awesome. But if you check your latency to the non-popular network, it might be bad (sometimes it shows that something is wrong from the hathway's side as well).

Point: Never check your latency to 8.8.8.8 or popular destination.

OK, here I am again with a new request. Recently Warface admins decided to remove the Seoul server and shift it to Singapore. Theoretically it should resolve the ping problem significantly, for us SEA players. I checked some global ping statistics from and to different cities, (Global Ping Statistics - WonderNetwork) and apparently Bangalore, Hyderabad etc get as low as 40ms to Singapore. My shitty BSNL from a suburb near Kolkata is giving me around 100ms. I wanna know how JIO FTTH is doing in this regard from different locations. And other ISPs too. So please share your location, IS{P and the ping times to this IP:
