@philip Loaded + Unloaded latency = Jitter aka Bufferbloat. That's it really.

And dude obviously Netflix owns/leases more than one server in the country. Don't you think?

@socrates Loaded latency means when you are sending/receiving data and latency test is done when data is being transmitted.
Loaded latency should be considered important as it shows resilence of the network.
Unloaded means just the ping packets are sent and received.
Usually,Loaded latency should be more than
unloaded latency.But difference on a ftth connection should be negligible and within 29 ms at max.
For 4g connection,many factors affect latency,like SINR,data load,backhaul among others.
For ftth,contention ratio and usage peaks usually leads to bad ping but routing is the major cause {i am talking to you BSNL}

Since fast.com netflix test server is based in Seattle, it makes little sense to test on it. Unless there is a way to test netflix peering on their Indian server.

I always get wrong test results from fast speedtest. My Windows Task manager shows 110 Mbps download continuously but fast determines that my connection speed is just 60 Mbps. So kinda junk test tbh.

@sanke3 Fast.com uses Netflix's regional Open Connect CDN to perform speed test. If your ISP has Open Connect cache installed or peered with an IX where Netflix is present, you would get better results.

With bsnl fast.com results i get diffenrent servers sometimes i get banglore mumbai , new delhi servers , sometimes it may say as open connect . With open connect the latnecy will be always 50 to 70 ms as comapered to 30 to 45 ms in the case of other servers. I thought instaliing, OCA cache will reduce the latency right but it was the opposite for me always.

Then it is still useless. They make it sound as if how awesome they are trying to make the fast test but in reality, it never gives a true sense of your connection. My friend who used to swear by fast results suddenly realized that the test is practically useless. If I use literally every speedtest server in Seattle to test my speed, I get an accurate 100 Mbps.
