Currently on 100Mbps 750GB plan, for Mumbai Server I am getting around 90Mbps. However issue start when I want to download from the International server, for example, right now I am downloading PyTorch with a max speed of 2MegaBytes instead of ~9MegaBytes. If I do a speed test to Singapore server same thing Download speed is around 20-30Mbps while the upload is going till 86Mbps. Is it just I or everyone is facing this issue?

And can someone suggest good ONT (preferably non-Chinese)
Will BSNL change it for free without any reason(upgrade to gigabit ethernet, maybe)? (it's on rent)

@sloj I know for sure it is a GPON ONT Alphion AONT100c and probably locked to the network. Moreover, Idk what settings it has no way to access PON information other than to ask alphion to update the ONT firmware.

The connector seems to be SC/UPC (confirmed from AONT 100c Specs)

@Adithya that info is not available in bridge or routed mode(ONT is old AF).

BTW, ping to gateway now is 36ms(pfsense has this nice interface that tells you the ping status to gateway and % of packet loss)

There is an application called Visual Traceroute Lite (lite's free) that does nice graphs of traceroutes 😅. You might like that.

That's quite high for the first hop. Post a trace route here. Let's see.
Tracing route to one.one.one.one [1.1.1.1]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

sorry for putting text idk why I am not able to insert images.

If I tell this to NIB, they are like it is a specific server issue we can't solve this.

and for whatever reason google.com tracert is going to Chennai instead of Mumbai. whereas 8.8.8.8 goes to mumbai

So, you can't access the ONT, like you don't know the password to access it?
Text is fine. Images eat more space. My tracert goes to Mumbai too.
Code:
maa05s01-in-f14.1e100.net [172.217.163.46]
Anyway that's not an issue.

Code:
Tracing route to one.one.one.one [1.1.1.1]

The second one is my ISP gateway. You definitely have an issue with your gateway.

Gateways don't normally change unless you are or the network you are connected on to a different one physically I guess.

It does for me, you get different gateways for different IPs. 117.x series get a 117.x ip gateway, 59 get's it's own. Sometimes you have to keep it off for a few minutes to get another one.

It's been long since I had a 59.x.x.x address. Since June 2nd I only get 117.x.x.x address. So, if I ever get 59.x.x.x again I will check if the gateway changes.

@sloj it is not the issue with username or password, there is no web gui or IP to access the ONT. Moreover, BSNL has disabled all the ethernet ports except the bridge one.

And regarding the gateways, gateway IP does change depending on the allotted WAN IP. however, the physical connection is the same. Hence, the change of gateway IP rarely does anything. (basically, different gateway decides where to send the packet, but the physical connection or the device remains the same)

edit:
TheOracle.home (192.168.2.1) is the pfsense router. and I have done everything restart, reset, change router(hence the pfsense) nothing works.
