I was one of few early adopters of Excitel ethernet back in 2015 I think and left it in few months due to downtime every other day, thanks to LCO n way they handle switches n wiring. This time on dedicated fiber line by Excitel I am told downtimes are fewer.

This time back from Airtel who were not ready to increase speeds(16mbps on vfiber for last 3 years) and facing few network problems like some app won't download or stuck at 99% unless i switch to mobile data Plus customer support of Airtel was down the drain in last one year. I think mobile support and landline support is on same level now aka hopeless. also upload speed hurts more than download.

Got new diwali offer plan 2000 for 4 months 100mbps + 750(refundable but no receipt provided) for ONT + 300 for installation(for box with ont n yellow wire).
LCO took 2 days to install it & would have taken probably one more but a warning after wire installation led to same day final activation else he would have lost all the effort till now. And same old money saving ways were used, no use of clip, tying wire to dish n pipes . I think Excitel should handle new installation itself instead of leaving it to LCO.

Speed is 100mbps without any ping loss for now.
But connection do becomes little jittery at too many times so a big no for gamers.
Even youtube streaming sometimes show pixelation when no big load on connection.
At one instance Whatsapp was not connecting.

So glitches still are there like old excitel but no complete downtime for time being.

I'll update if I face more problems. Hopefully rain, moisture and dust won't affect fiber.

Few Results

Excitel LCO. I know it can but why are they denying when I'm willing to provide the ONU from my end?

@MadAxe the serial numbers of onus supplied to lcos are entered into excitel procare (myexcitel like portal used by lcos) from excitel backend. So basically only predefined onu serial nos they can map to user profile, no other onus. The mac ids of onus are to be whitelisted also and only excitel noc can do this coz lcos don't have admin access to excitel olts. Even i offered my onu too but my lco expressed its inability and he showed me predefined serial nos on portal. He was ready to use my onu but on his own olt and that won't give me excitel fiber benefits.
As far i remember u told ur lco has lot of dumb onus available

@opomiyulen Yes. I wanted to take the dumb ONU from my LCO and use it with Fiber connection from different Excitel LCO as he's basically forcing me to buy the ₹2000 ONU and I need the connection at that location on urgent basis.

How is the ₹2000 ONU?
Which company is it of Syrotech or Richerlink?
And though gigabit, is it capable of providing symmetric stable 300 Mbps?

@MadAxe Kinda ok, richerlink with four antenna has better performance compared to gx with two. Cant comment on Syrotech and they recently started giving optilink as well. Only draw back i see is heat and don't know how the performance will be in summers as i have seen more than 50℃ easily under load

@igloo Richerlink or Syrotech?
@opomiyulen What about the range?
I wanted to go with ₹750 ONU + Archer C6 but guess there's no other option.
The dumb ONU is available with my LCO but isn't available with another one that is just 2kms away.
