Yes. I agree.

I am a strong critique of Congress. But Congress was right despite scam committed by A Raja. Auctioning of strategic asset like Spectrum at high rates will ultimately lead to burden on consumers. That's what happened.

Lets not give Spectrum for free to telecom industry. Lets not auction/sell it at very high prices. Instead sell spectrum at optimum fixed price. At least 3 times below what Govt sold it in auction.

And when Telecom sector picks up growth. Govt's Tax revenues from it will also grow and automatically it will be benefit everyone in long term. Consumers will get lower prices. Telecom operators will get better profits and more customers. Govt will get good revenue from Telecom growth.

You see, BJP are party of incompetent scum. They also realize that Telecom sector is in shambles due to auctioning process. But they can't simply reverse it because they built their politics by fooling people about 2G scam.

Spectrum is auctioned in almost every country in the world. Is BJP that is a party of incompetent scum as per you responsible for spectrum auctions in rich countries like the USA, UK and all European countries as well as poor countries like Myanmar to Sri Lanka?

Let me guess. You are from Tamilnadu and supporter of DMK who were waiting to receive A Raja in Chennai airport when he was released from jail on bail.

Topweb,

You don't know anything. Telecom spectrum is NOT freely auctioned in all countries. Every country has its own Telecom policy and allocation of Spectrum. Go check the selling price of spectrum auctions in developing countries. Price is fraction of the selling price in India. No developing nation has sold spectrum at such exorbitant price as in India.

For e.g Pakistan sold its entire 3G+4G Spectrum for just 6000 Cr Rupees. In India, Govt sold 3G spectrum alone for 70000 Cr.

Similarly selling price of spectrum in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is peanuts compared to that in India.

Regarding US, UK and other European nations. They are developed nations. Their per capita GDP, income and standard of living is much higher than that of India. Citizens in those nations can easily afford Tariff structures of their telecom providers.

India is a developing state. Large population of this country is poor and isolated from modernization and technology. Hence, affordability of Technology is of prime importance. Stop comparing Apple to oranges. India is not like US. So policy that may be suitable for modern industrialized nation like US/UK doesn't mean it is suitable for India.

No one was holding a gun on the head of Indian telecom companies when they were putting their bids for spectrum. They paid what they paid because they believe that they will make money even after paying that price in auction.

Only and only the DMK supporters from Tamilnadu can argue that giving away spectrum for free was the right thing to do.

Once again, India has expensive spectrum because telcos were willing to bid and pay that price.

Please tell us about a single incidence where anyone from BJP (party of incompetent scum as per you) was seen holding a gun at the head of CEOs of telecom companies and forcing them to submit high bids.

From what I am seeing.

Modi government delayed implementation of 2mbps.
Modi government is bringing back section 66a.
Modi government has just issued the largest blocking order in the history of blocking orders this week.

Yey Digital India. Excellent governance we are getting from our Pravachan Minister.

Stop calling everybody from DMK or Tamil Nadu if he doesn't agree with your opinion. Most economists and financial experts know that Spectrum Auctioning has deeply affected the growth of Telecom industry in India.

I am not defending A Raja or Telecom companies. I don't give a shit about A Raja/DMK or Telecom companies. My point is just that Indian Govt policy of Spectrum allocation was economically and technically wrong.

Add one more to your list.Last week NDTV was blaming Modi government for deficient monsoon rains in some parts of country. Has Modi done anything to ensure that all states of country have uniform rainfall? That was the question being asked loudly and again and again. Search and you will the video somewhere.

Wait. The three things I mentioned are not natural causes. They are proactive steps taken by Modi government against the interest of the common man. So please... keep the two things separate.

If you do want my opinion about it... I certainly hope that this government believes that climate change is real and giving out relief after a natural calamity is not exactly a solution. Sure we can do all we can after a disaster has happen. But they are increasing at a rapid pace and eventually they have to realize that this is one scenario where prevention is the only cure. Because the alternative is a world from the movie Mad Max.
