what is the maximum speed for bsnl 3g networks

but connectivity is an issue, its very erratic. H symbol looses in & out and its started to behave like Tata docomo.

Also the above test is done at close 12 midnight, when towers and servers are least congested

It has become such a pain in the rear. The H signal abruptly dissappears for 5-10 mins after say every 10-15 mins. Seems like a nation wide issue. Lodged a complaint with BSNL cc today regarding this.
Hope its resolved, no idea whats wrong :(

Guys this is the speed as of today..it's through Huawei dongle purchased from BSNL exchange almost 2 years ago. I get very good speed at night and in the day time I get no connection at times !! At times it doesn't even connect. When it connects it gives proper speed but not as high as in night time. Anyways below is the speed result from BSNL 3g Dongle plugged in my laptop. I am at electronic City, Bangalore and Server I chose to test my speed is of MTS, Bangalore.

I usually get speed around 2-3 Mbps in BSNL 3G (but sometime it is slow, slower than 2G). The highest achieved speed was around 5.35 Mbps.

Around 4-6 Mbps download and 1-2 Mbps Upload ( 200 metres from BTS and BTS is 7.2 Mbps one )

I know it is hard to believe but once I traveled to Varanasi,I got 2MBPS(yes 2 mega bytes per second) of download. Phone was getting constant H+ signals in open areas and according to a bsnl advertisement network there supports upto 21mbps so technically I was getting around 16mbps speed.
Here in my city Mirzapur it gives upto 500KBPS when in gets "H" signals but unfortunately here it keeps toggling between 3G and H mode.

Must be very near to BSNL tower then, otherwise getting anything near practical speed speed looks ridiculous.
