still d same.. on speedtest.net i get 484Kbps dnld and 198Kbps upload
the customer services hav not replied for my third complaints too...

There shouldn't be any problem with router.
Check for the sync rate, may be they have synced you at 512 or so, and its just impossible to get 2 mbps.
to check the sync go to router page most likeyl http://192.168.1.1 use admin as username and password and depending on router make and model u have to search for sync rate or known as line rate option.

call the call center, and tell them that your net is not working. Tell them, that you have tried everything, but still its not working. Ask them to send a person to your place. When the person comes, show him the slow speed, and ask him to do the required to take the speed to 2 mbps.
hey guys regarding speed here is some infowhts the use of testing speed on local network tht is ur pc to mumbai nocpc.......155mb.........local network of isp.........50mb........to newyorkyou have to download from newyork then whts the use of testing at mumbai. This is just to fool you.Second tata give u 256 cir (committed information rate) and upto 2mb (Max i r). If they give you 256kbps then u can't say anything to them. So better bear it in ur mind tht u r using 256kbps connection if you get more than tht its ur luck. So once u say u r getting 256kbps on 2mb plan then the ticket will be closed. I think tata is now fooling its subscriber. They will always tell u to download from their own website so that you are likely to get better speeds. I get erratic download speed. A single 5min song at youtube takes 30minutes to view it.I'l give as much knowledge technically to you so that you should not be fooled by unscrupulous isp like TATA. So better bear it in ur mind tht u r using 256kbps connection if you get more than tht its ur luck. So once u say u r getting 256kbps on 2mb plan then the ticket will be closed. thnx for d advise dude.. d problem was with my line i got it fixed..now my download speed is 210kBps....it never go below 200..and for ur info 256kbps is cir...they should give u 80% of 2mbps always .if it goes below that u can always complaint and if still not satisfied u can aproach consumer court.. visit DOT site for more info
