I'm looking for two televisions: A 32 inch one, and a 40/42 Inch one. Needs options in both categories. Connectivity will be a Tata Sky HD box, and a PS3. Also USBs from time to time. The TV should also have an option for being able to attach either a sound bar or HTS later next year. I don't know whether a LED will be better or a LCD or Plasma. Please advise. I'm only looking for a Samsung, Sony or LG TV. No other brand. Also I want this TV to run at least 5 years. Budget isn't decided yet, but I doubt it'll cross 40K. Take 30-42K as a range. Any suggestions?

I know you arent looking beyond a Sony or a samsung but let me tell you that "Toshiba " is also doing equally well and I just bought a 40 inch LED for 36500/- .. The picture quality is very good as is the sound .. Defo nothing to beat Sony thats why they charge a premium but Toshiba can be near a Samsung ..

Get a tv with good clear motion rate for sports and fast action
Does this also apply to Fast paced games played via PS3?

No it will ruin PS3 games, ps3 games run at 30FPS and what clear motion does is increase those FPS by inserting a frame in two frames and guess what there could have been between those two frames. This causes image tearing in PS3 games, sports are smooth and i can see the ball fly smoothly(cricket) and not jittery. Movies also do not benefit from this because they are 24 FPS. So content with high FPS benefit from this tech.
( Explanation: When FPS is low then it is hard to guess what there could have been between two frames because the object could have changed it's position quickly from one frame to another and when guessed wrong, image tearing has occurred. But in high FPS content the object does not change it's position much between two frames so it is easy to guess where the object was and thus FPS are increased and the content is even smoother)
Getting this will keep you ready for high FPS content, I myself have 400 motion clear rate led by Samsung.

Damn. 40 inch TVs are expensive. Saw 2 models at Croma yesterday. Both were 56K, Sony/Samsung both. Will need to increase budget a bit. Is anyone using an LG? How is it? Mini review please :)

In some LG 3D tvs there is a new technology call dual view(?) while playing a 2 player game on PS3, game will not be split screen but each player will see the game in full screen with their respective 3d glasses
