Hi Guys, Yesterday I applied for ACT broadband in Bangalore Jeevanahalli area. Mr Mohammad has collected the application form and promised me that the connection will be active in two days . thats max by July 9th . I have paid advance payment of 1 month rental of Rs.1122 (10 mbps , 50 GB FUP , 512Kbps after that). No installation charges as My company is listed for corporate waiver off.I will update the proceedings .

Hi, you can pay online from our portal

Rgds

Isn't there drop-box facility? or payment by check facility?
Also answer this:
Called the ACT Broadband customer care today, but forgot to ask 2 questions.
1) Does PPPoE login through router work (because i hate manual login)?
2) Is there any issues with the Internet connectivity like it going down for sometime, like about 1/2 hours when i desperately need internet?

The drop box facility is available only at the branch offices & some apartment complexes. You can also pay thru cheque at your door step collection by our team.

1. yes you can configure the PPPoE or avail our field engineer help to configure the same.
2. normally it does not go down unless if there is prolonged power outage say 6 hrs and above and also if there is any fiber cut intentionally by unwanted elements.

There was no show up (as promised) for installation on 06/07/12. Hence I called the Sales person and he assured me that he will look in to that and some body will call up soon. Though no body called me or no person came for installation till now, I received a message from ACT , Giving me a Ticket number 1490481, stating that it has been registered and will be looked in to ASAP.

will provide more updates..

Oh Man! They will install some 'AONT Box (ACT Optical Network Terminator)' in the terrace of my home, and that consumes min 5kWH of power every month. I didn't know that. The bad part is i need to pay for that power.

ACT will give a discount of 45 rupees in your bill if AONT box is getting power from your home.

There was no show till 2. PM today. I called the sales guy and he assured me will look into that immediately. As said within 4 o clock a guy came and gave the connection. It took hardly 20 min for him as the box was very near to my room. Ran the speed tests and was impressed very much. I'm able to get around 1.5mb/s in torrents. i'm happy that they provided the service within the mentioned time.. Kudos to ACT team as they are able to achieve what the so called corporates (Airtel and reliance) cannot.

if can somebody help me on adding images to the post, I can share the speedtest results.

Should it be powered 24x7 ? Is it compulsory to be in every terrace with act connection?

Can you post image of it, and space it requires. ACT may even need to pay rental for it.

Just copy paste the image url. (You see it when you click Share button in speedtest website).

Yes. It should be powered 24x7 even when you are not using it. From each box, ACT guys can give connections to maximum eight persons. So if you switch off, other persons would not get broadband access.
