hi i had taken a act broadband connection in the month of february , they had installed a box in my premises and taken the power , i was tols i would get a discount of rs 50 every month, till date i have not recieved the same ,My account number is 164359, i have placed numerous req for the same but to no avail , whenever i complain, they raise a request and the same is closed , but no resolution is provided, even though their speeds are grt, they should not cheat customers like this, if they cannot provide the discount promised then why commit to that, calls to thier nodal officer Mr N prasad is a waste , he is never there in office or never picks up the call , thier CC leaves a lot to be desired

what would i do? i would cut the power supply. they would contact you instead of you contacting them.

I had an interesting experience with ACT today. When i had applied for the connection, in October'12, the executive who visited my apartment in Cox Town, suggested that i keep the wifi router(Cisco Linksys e900) in the middle of the apartment in order to ensure even coverage thru out. Me being the sometimes-i-think-i-know-it-all, decided that i need to keep in a particular room only and not as per the executive's suggestion. It so happened that after the connection was done, a few days later i realized that the executive was correct and the whole apartment was not getting covered. So i raised a request with ACT cc on Saturday, 24th November, to relocate the copper wire so that wifi router can be placed in a more central location in the apartment. They did take a few days to respond, but 3 days later on Tuesday i got a call from one of the engineers - Sandeep. I was busy on that day and the next day, so I asked him to come to my apartment on Thursday. I started moving the wifi router in different places in my apartment to check for best signal and during that i hear the bell ring and Sandeep's at the door. I hadn't decided yet where to place the router and he patiently waited(atleast 15 mins) until i finally did. After i decided, he removed the wire from the existing location and then he himself went to the watchman to get the keys for the terrace(even though i offered) and moved the wire to the location i wanted. While he was setting it up in a particular location which i had decided first, i kinda changed my mind and told him that i need to move it to another location and without any hesitation, he obliged and set up the whole thing neatly. Once done, he asked me to test the connection, and only after i was satisfied, he decided to leave. The whole setup process must have taken an hour and during that time Sandeep was extremely patient and polite and when he was leaving i offered to pay him for the work he had done and he refused take even a single paise from me and kept saying that its a free service and that he won't accept any money. I insisted quite a few times, and he still refused to take any money.I was really impressed with the professionalism in him. Infact, all the ACT staff i have met face to face have been very professional. The sales executive who came to my apartment to check feasibility and to collect the application form behaved well. Even the engineers who had come to setup the connection the first time behaved very well(they came on a Sunday and I was acting like a jerk because i kept changing the appointment time with them.)My experience with ACT has been really great till now and i wish them the best and hope they render similar service to all their customers. Special kudos to Sandeep.Cheers

Hi, I moved to Anandapura, TC Palya Main road near KR Puram earlier this month (Dec 2012). Let me tell you how I decided for ACT connection.

I had a BSNL connection at my previous home near Tin Factory for which I requested a transfer in mid Nov 2012. Speed for BSNL was good but the connection would be dead atleast 3-4 days every month and we have to tip the lineman to fix it. Anyways I planned to keep my existing BSNL at my new house and applied for transfer. Around 2 weeks passed and I moved in to my new house, but no one from BSNL even bothered to call me or update the status in portal. So I went to their offices on 3rd Dec to ask but they were so rude and behaved as if a stranger broke into their home. I decided to say goodbye to BSNL.

Next day an agent from ACT visited my home and gave a pamphlet about their BB plans. I was excited about the basic 2Mbps of 649/- per month. I asked him to come back in couple of days. The guy visited again on 6th Dec evening for the registration and I paid the 3 months advance as I didnt want to pay the installation fee. He informed me that the installation will happen within 4 days and I will get my credentials to login as well. As promised, on 10th December, the technician came to give the BB connection. Also within couple of hours, I got the credentials to log in. Happy :)

I faced small issues on the first two days. One day there was no internet connection for the entire day. However I was not at home most of the time on that day and hence I didnt care to call them or send email. However if you try to call them, your money is going to go down the drain since noone attends calls and the calls are charged. I have resorted to sending emails to them. Not sure if they check it or not, but I have got my problems rectified when I have emailed them and to actian@acttv.in. I had emailed them couple of times in this one month. However I havent seen anyone replying to my mails. All I see is that the issue is resolved withing 30 minutes or so.

My review:
1) Registration and installation was smooth and fast.
2) Speed is very good. I have been receiving 2Mbps as promised.
3) Their call center is a real mess. You will always be on wait and will be charged. They claim to have a voice mail box which I think they never check. I tried couple of times and it said Voice mail is full.
4) You could send email to helpdesk@acttv.in and actian@acttv.in to get your issues resolved. However I didnt receive any response for my mails to these email ids.

So far so good. Hope ACTian looks into the couple of issues I have mentioned.

Cheers!!

Saw an advertisement in my area, it says ACT is available in the area. Wanted to have it, but they say that their service not so good. But, now, happy with Airtel.

I reside in Kasturi Nagar area. And have been a ACT user since more than eight months now. And I am a satisfied user. :)Initially though things were not smooth. I think it was the first 2 months marred with frequent disruptions. Their customer care at that time was even more understaffed than now. The first time the connection was disrupted and after having jumped from Airtel to ACT, and no one even registering a complaint was a very rude shock. I rued why I quit an Airtel connection in use for more than 5 years. For which if I booked a complaint a 11 pm in the night, I will have the technician next morning on my door at 7. Greed of 10 mbps, 5 times the speed at 30% lesser price, eh.. not a good thing. Then, there was this problem of disruption of service once the power went out. We had backup power, but apparently the router at act base station at that time didn't. Given the frequency of power disruption in Bangalore, it became a nightmare. Almost decided to go back to Airtel. But decided to give a bold start up one more chance. And a great decision. It was initial phase of teething troubles for ACT in kasturi nagar. I haven't have had any troubles for the last 5 months or so. Don't expect immediate pick up of phone calls at customer care. But ISP is mostly a low maintenace job. So we don't need customer care too much. The plans obviously are the best. On paper, no one can beat them. To make them the best, we need delivery of the same. I am saying, I get the product as promised. Airtel is now charging premium. Without reason. But it is very comforting to get a service for a significant lesser amount and a fair FUP and speed at 5X of the market dominating product. As one of my friends who took my advice and got ACT said, 'No buffering'!!!!

just what i hear from people. they complaint about frequent disconnections.

with them from past 4 months, downtime so far is only 3 hrs. on 15 mbps plan torrent touch speed of 2Mbps. 1 gb files downloaded in 10 Mins and sometimes faster if seeding is good
