Please please please do not go for ACT.
My story so far is that I have paid them 4.5K advance, and 3.7k per month for the subscription (50 mbps line)
My initial connection was delayed by almost a month.
Within 10 days of getting the connection, the line was down for 14 days. I have faced intermittent disconnections since then. My connection has been down for the last 3 days. Their customer service is pathetic. When you call them, they tell you that they will get back within the next 1 hour. No one ever calls back ... EVER! All you hear from customer service is lies. My internet has been down 25% of the time I have had this connection.

Dear ACT.
My internet is down again. I am not surprised.Edit: And its up again after a downtime of 2 hours and i am very sure no one will be able to answer this question: why it was down? The nameservers of ACT were working but all the requests were getting timed out. Even ping was timed out.
 
Hi Egunda,
Just a thought. Where is the ACT box located? If it is in some other house, probably they are switching it off. If it is in your home, then im not sure.

The box is located at my place only and i am providing electricity to it. It was switched on.

Strange. I've been using ACT since a year and about 5 - 6 times it went down. All of the time except 1, it was a cable cut issue. Maybe the location does matters.

[color=rgb(65,65,65);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;]I got ACT Broadband two months ago (July, 2013) because I heard that the speed is awesome. Considering I work from home this was a necessary prerequisite. I as such have no complaints about the speed but what use is speed when there is no connection in the first place. From when I have got it I have called their customer care atleast 10 times a month! The customer care mostly sounds indifferent and if I mention that it is an urgent request they don’t seem to care and end up being rude. The technician they send over is just bad as he cant seem to find a good solution for this. With very late service coupled with rude customer care I don’t understand who found this service good!? Now I can’t cancel this service because of my non-refundable 6 months payment. Highly disappointed - might as well go back to my slow but reliable BSNL connection.[/color]
