Airtel *400# Scam?

why even have a such a feature of allowing to dial a code while call is on? Why not disable it?

I guess it is a feature. You can transfer money to the guy while on call. I mean that is the primary purpose of a digital wallet right? Instant transfer of funds to friends and family?

Yes but there shud be audio/visual confirmation... "u r dialing *400#"... money will be transferred from ur account.. are u sure.. something like that.

it do ask for pre set pin code.

If a person is dialing *400# because some stranger called and promised cashback/offers, then perhaps they would also enter the PIN code. :rofl:

pin code is last authentication. ussd response tells exactly for what you are entering pin for.
However still instead of relying on that message on screen, u are trusting that stanger then only two things can be said.
Either you lack the basic knowledge to understand how it works or your greed prevail over your understanding at that time.
I think its more of a second case imho, this is not new previously people got fooled by those talktime transfer via ussd code.
one of my uncle lost his entire talktime in greed of lower tariff plan offer lol.
