Airtel DTH lost case filed by Tata Sky : That Airtel's Ad "Dil Titli" was Misleading about Superior Picture Quality through MPEG 4 Technology.
In its final decision on Tata Sky's complaint against Airtel's DTH ad, which claims that Airtel Digital TV's picture quality is superior to that of others due to its MPEG4 and DVB- S2 technologies, the Advertising Standards Council of India's con- sumer complaints committee has given the ad a thumbs down. It said the Airtel ad is misleading. Tata Sky argued that while MPEG4 is a video compression standard, DVB-S2 is a satellite transmission standard, both of which have no relationship to video quality. Airtel Digital TV has assured that the ad will be modified.
