The Airtel ads were very misleading showing blur picture in other DTH TV's and its very sad that the consumer also thought that the images is blurred... I am happy that Tata Sky took them to court for this.

heh. if customers through that the image comes blurry on other DTHs... they are just being stupid... reliance had a similar advertising campaign... big screen... cable sucks... DTH image is so clear. i don't think DTH is much clear on BIG screen LCDs.

The fact is that there is no effect on Picture quality of both MPEG 4 and MPEG 2 Technologies as they are just compression techniques and nothing more. The MPEG 4 technology allows putting up more channels on Transponder but this has no direct or indirect relation with its picture quality. It is misleading to state that picture quality is better with MPEG4 DVB-S2 technology. I think they have just invented this word, as MPEG 4 is just a compression technique and DVB-S2 is just a satellite transmission standard! It should be brought to customers knowledge that the jargon in DTH MPEG 2/4 symbolizes the video compression standard and this can be promoted in the text of having more channels not by having superior technology. Hope people get aware of this and are not misled.

Well if you want to watch DTH in LCD use Component output its offered far better pic quality, BIGTV TATA)SKY Plus has Component output in their stb, :)

Well Just to tell, before putting up such comments you must know about the details, at that time also Tata Sky filed a case and in result they have lost the case as the ad was perfectly okay.

Nope. You are absolutely wrong again. After the case filed by Tatasky, Dish TV started flashing on the bottom left of their ad that "This offer is applicable only with 3990 offer". Prior to the case filing by Tatasky, Dish TV never flashed this message which was actually misleading since the STBs were not being offered actually for "free", customers had to take the Rs.3990 package to avail the offer. Got it kid ?

what are people doing why dont we give a setback to airtel and other misdoers by lodging consumer complaints . just as we manage to go to our duties offices we must manage to find time and lodge complaints in consumer court against such misdoers coz its the national duty . its not sufficient to just say MERA DESH MAHAN . wake up and act now
