@ BSNL_airtel ..its a DNS problem..specify the following DNS addresses in ur ATA/ router and desktop lan card settings

prim DNS : 4.2.2.1
secondary DNS : 208.67.222.222

I changed my computer's TCIP settings to use these 2 DNS servers. I also changed the Airtel Beetel dsl modem's DNS entries by logging to 192.168.1.1/main.html and clicking on advanced and then DNS.

I rebooted the airtel router/modem first and then rebooted my voip ata and then my computer.

Now, it no longer does a loop back to 127.0.0.1. But, the problem still remains and there is no voip light. I am copying below my PING and TRACERT results after these changes (and subsequently rebooting all devices).

Does this prove anything? Maybe that airtel is blocking something. This might be the last straw and just pull the plug on airtel and go back to good ol' BSNL.

ok its confirmed now Airtel is blocking Sipphone and almost all sip servers belonging to betamax :O  :madness:

Hi,I have been using Airtel since more than a year with multiple Sip Accounts. Until last Tuesday everything was working fine. Then on Wednesday Morning 11th Feb all of a sudden All voip was blocked from Home and rom Office too (both are on Airtel Broadband).I wrote an email to Airtel on Thursday at their we.west email. They sent their guy to office the next day to check. He sat there and talked to his people for 2 hours, sent across tracert print screens, and said that the they would try and resolve the problem at the backend by evening.Nothing came across. Then today the technician called me up and said that the ip's of the sip providers you are using are blacklisted. Please call the company who has these ip's and ask to get them off the blacklist. !!I had given them sip.pulver.com & sipgate.co.uk. to check. Both are inaccesible from airtel & many more. While I checked with my friends on MTNL & Tata who confirmed they were receiving ping requests. Sip connections are not working off the PC's as well, only the diallers are working. Any Suggestions on resolving this ?

its a clear case of blocking of Voip as i have mentioned above..they have no right to do it as VoIP is perfectly legal in India. However its not a blanket block..i can still access certain other VoIP services
