Well, one thing is for sure that Airtel is throttling speed for torrent downloads.I have two Airtel's broadband connections, here are the statsConnection 1: 512 kbps Torrent D/L Speed, Normal Mode: 160-200 kbps Torrent D/L Speed, Normal Mode with SOD 2mbps: 2 mbpsTorrent D/L Speed, with data tunneling (VPN): 450 to 500 kbpsConnection 2: 4 mbpsTorrent D/L Speed, Normal Mode: 160-200 kbps Torrent D/L Speed, Normal Mode with SOD 2mbps: SOD doesn't worksTorrent D/L Speed, with data tunneling (VPN): 3.2-3.7 mbpsI am very loyal customer of airtel and have been with them since 1999 (3 Mobile + 2 Landline/Broadband), but after sh!t, I literally feel betrayed. Is there any way we can jointly put pressure on airtel to stop cheating their customers, maybe something like making a list of affected people with their landline numbers and appealing on public forums or on consumercomplaints.inSince I am not that technically well off, I would like to share what a senior technician told me over the phone in regards to slow download speeds on torrents, he said that whenever we download from torrents, the hop count increases resulting in slow download compared to less hop counts from a direct download.
