@ Above As I said telephonic conversation has not much importance, email them and get it in written so u have some proof to show them back. If ur capped how will u prove to them what cc guy said. or call them back and tell them ur new user and to explain "fair usuage policy" on their website.

Airtel is planning close unlimited plans altogether..that is the info I am getting from a Senior marketing fella in Airtel who is a close friend of my friend.Airtel's users feedback has been extremely negative regarding AFUP .. and it has not got the nod from TRAI either. Since it is no longer profitable to continue with unlimited plans.. Airtel it seems has decided to close unlimited broadband. WTF

May be they removing the policy from site just to calm down the peaople .. they might still reduce the speeds and we ll just be complaining of it... Airtel needs to be taught a lesson

haha closing the unlimited plans . It will make this profitable market less profitable. Many people will shift to a different ISP . Airtel will have ample of bandwidth then but no one to use it (pay for it)

let them ban wi-fi or routers or whatever. ill put a linux box as router and use NAT. f*ck it, ill donate my bandwidth to the home-office next door for day times when m not at home. will ensure the connection is used every single second of the month. coz that' what i am paying for.

Exactly my thoughts! I make my wifi network open to all when i leave my house and i dont have to download anything. I just want the bandwidth to be wasted as much as possible. Why am i doing this? Just so that i get my money worth.

the only legal stuff that we have is that for 384k and 256k plan users.TRAI guidelines for a broadband connection is an always on 256k connection so if airtel reduced the speed of these 2 plans then they have violated the guidelines in which they can be held liable.


FYI 384 kbps customers are downgraded to 256 kbps after hitting 25gb, so they dont have a case. Its only the 256 kbps customers who can do something about it.

Nope! I can confirm that 384 kbps users are downgraded to 256 kbps because i am a victim of this since 7th Feb
