Well BSNL already has reduced speeds in all their Unlimited plans, I mean the Unlimited plans of BSNL does not have the "Upto 2Mbps/4 Mbps" clause in them. Thats the main reason why they have not implemented Fair Usage Policy. And thank God, they didnt ad Iwant them to stay like this..!

HERE is a proof that there is no Fair Usage Policy on airtel turbo 1299 plan

crossed 132 GB but still dl speed didnt reduce!!!:thumb::clap:

^ FUP, where applicable, takes into count the 2 way traffic, so in your case you have used 201 GB and not 132 :D

well i dont see many (any in fact) people who have seen FUP applied on their connection. i guess it was announced as a protective measure for users who consume excessive bandwidth.

But I know people who have downloads from private trackers on for 24x7x365. They are literally maxing out their connections. Even those guys have not been penalised. They just announced it to protect themselves if they implement it suddenly later on.

Or it might be just a trap door which they can use if they feel their network is getting congested

afaik FUP has been dropped when airtel announced new plans like turbo 1299 swift 1099 freedom 1699 nd 2999 etc!!!

I think the FUP is just sort of a stunt to show to the govt. or so. Like for eg the DVD players. DVD players are supposed to play only one region. But when I brought Pioneer DVD player, the shop keeper himself tweaked something on the backside to make it region free. He said, the manufacturers have, by rule, to show DVD players acc to region. But, for the customers, they do want it to be region free. Otherwise, not many would buy it. So they sell it reigon locked, but keep simple tweaks on customer side to make it region free (unofficial, of course, they will not advertise it). Similarly, I think, the world is going FUP way. So to show their willingness, they advertise FUP, but they may rarely implement it, and may probably not even like users to openly talk that they dont implement it. I may be wrong, but I feel this is the thing.
