Reliance went down for around 12 hours and according to Airtel, I consumed 4GB of data during that period just browsing on the web. Cannot wait to get rid of this shit once Jio is available.
To be honest, I barely need 10GB for the backup connection that works as a primary connection on dad's Chromebook. I do not think Jio could replace my shitty Reliance Broadband connection that gets me unlimited data at 3.2mbps for Rs. 1250 per month.
But down time in rel bb is too bad here in my city and they are unable to provide connection to me as their box Or whatever is 1km away from my place. Tata was nice pure 2mbps unltd , no fup. but downtime was shitty.
Reliance is not an option without a proper backup plan. There is a reason why I pay Airtel around the same money as Reliance for backup connection. The uptime is legendary for Indian conditions!
Airtel and bsnl use underground cable til your premies hence downtime is low
Reliance and tata use over the air wiring,so more prone to disconnects and downtime
Reliance has underground wiring in my area. Though the wire coming to my house is coming hanging over a poll and a tree because their box attached to my house has damaged cable and to fix it they would need to dig up the road and you can see how much effort that would require.
The box is on the other side of the road to the side of my house so the distance is minimal. I have not had even a single wire cut since I got the connection because they use a thick cable that has four wires inside it for two connections. I can actually get a second connection on the same wiring!
