Airtel Broadband launches 1 mbps unlimited plan for Rs. 2222

@motorazr
i agree with ur point tat TATA is a whole shit coz in most of the place (we cant say everywhere) it has downtime for 10-15 days and careless technicians too :wall:i dont know about MTNL coz here we dont have any company named as MTNL:redface:

Mtnl is okay, they have some good plans and if u r ready to manage the small problems by yourself then MTNL is a good one coz the customer care is full of dumb asses who doesnt know anything.

Anyways Downtime is hardly there in MTNL, i have been using it for last 1 and half years and i never had any major downtimes...1 or 2 hour downtimes have come when they upgrade their server.:)

Yes ur right...however, the download calculated here is in a perfect situation...as it is the maximum possible download achievable...if u were to get these exact maximum speeds at a constant rate. But if u were to keep ur modem on for 24 hrs...guess u'll be able to d/l anywhere between 6-8 GB data...again depending on speed

well i think one can easily manage around 350MB in an hour on Airtel coz they would easily provide around 115KB/s download speed and in a day u can download about 8 GB which is great.

well, i think the price will drop to somewhere around 1750Rs per month soon which is a good deal.

Wow. Downloading around 8 gb a day would be awesome! I can't wait to get the connection! Gonna upgrade on monday!

but think about the price if it fits u then upgrade :thumbsup:if u wait for some month their is a chance for the reduction of price :)

Who says? Don't make faltu predictions. If you have a source, name it, otherwise be very specific that this is your guess / hope based on nothing.

Seems you are ignorant wats goin around you.
There is every good chance the prices of the plan may decrease in future. When? That cannot be specified though.
Any new product when launched is at the hype of price and eventually the price gets down as the product/plan gets common.
Best example is now we get life time sim cards at 125 rs which at the time were more that 1200+.
So srinitheultimate you may be correct.

hmm I agree with your theory. But are we just talking about price cut for one plan only? What about the other plans like the 256UL plan which still has the same price for the past 3 years. People want price cut for all plans and not for the 1Mbps plan only. I for one don't feel that they would reduce the price for 1Mbps UL plan, before they reduce the other UL plans price.:redface:If the above holds true then we may not see any cuts for another 2 years, unless competition brings price down.:)

Ganesh, it seems to me that you are ignorant about the correct use of language, and in particular, the difference between being vague and being specific. It is one thing to say that prices of plans generally decrease. And it is quite another thing to say that they are going to decrease next month.

So if srinitheultimate's point is that prices of 1Mbps plan will eventually decrease, (but he doesn't know whether it's one month from now or 5 years), he's not saying anything very great which everyone doesn't know already.

But what I am calling him on is his specific claim that they are reducing next month. It is unsupported by anything - there isn't any announcement from Airtel. Heck, there isn't even a vague rumour purported by any Airtel employee to this effect. On top of that in my 3.5 years of experience first hand with Airtel, and general observations of other ISPs during that period, I have never seen an ISP lower the price of a plan within a month. Usually the quickest is 6 months to a year.

So sorry, unless he (and you) have some special source that you haven't mentioned, I would have to dismiss your claim(s) as unsubstantiated conjecture.

Yupp, when it would happen it will make sense only when all plans are restructured. I have no idea of airtel but bsnl did it some time ago by restructuring the plan.

As i said i donno about artel but everyone knows BSNL restructured its 2 of the best plans months ago to stay alive in competition.

Initial Plan : 250 rs : 500 mb download limit : 256 kbps.
Restructured Plan : 250 rs : 1 gb download limit : 2 mbps

Initial Plan : 500 rs : 1 gb download limit : 256 kbps
Restructured Plan : 500 rs : 2.5 bg download limit : 2 mbps

I am using ttml and just switched to better plan where in 199 rs 256 kbps UL night plan. Which was never available before.

There was time when bsnl dial-up used to cost more than 25rs/hour and when i last used it few years ago it was 7 rs/hour and i am sure it must have came down more recently.

So what i meant its just the matter of time, days? months? or may be even year. I see people complaining about cheap prices, like in US or europe UL 1,2 mbps are for so and so $$$. It wont happen here in India unless internet gets a place in every household like a television set.

It will take a no genius to notice he was giving his opinion on what could happen in future. He made it very clear there is chance and it wasn't claim. So there is no need for him to notify its his guess / hope based on nothing as u said he should. That is what we all call is a common sense. And if he was giving his opinion it is very much within the forum rules, and i guess that is what we all are here for. If you dont agree just ignore and move on. But it isn't in your authority to moderate his post and prohibit him from voicing his opinion.

I think the point vebk tries to make is that one should only post if he/she has concrete info on a particular change which is going to occur in the recent future. Though srini hasn't really done anything wrong in expressing his views (where he hopes for a price cut). I must admit srini does sound repetitive in his posts where he keeps repeating that he hopes for price cut, his posts aren't providing any addtional information than what is already known.Srini My Man! I hope you will not take things personal and just refrain from repeating the same post in different threads.:ashamed:
