Airtel Broadband: still getting 1mbps all day

how exactly do you people get these speeds? any hard reboot or some trick? care to share?

If the server you are connected to somehow isn't enforcing the speed cap(can happen due to many reasons) then you will get speeds as high as your modem's line rate. So no real trick, its all up to the server's functioning.
