I have already got out of Airtel DTH (or rather they have thrown me out) And i would advice all Airtel DTH customers to move to some other operator.SM2 error hit my home DTH service multiple times in last couple of months. And Airtel never send any one to fix this. (once someone called and fooled me by saying he will be coming over and i should be available)And finally when this started to occur each and every day. I send a mail to there nodal and airtelpresence mail ids. Same as earlier, i was asked to be present in my home on a working day and no one came. After acting as a puppet for these airtel technicians, i decided to pull out of Airtel. And then the real torture startedI send a mail to cancel this connection and suddenly i get calls from everywhere to know whats the issue ( as if they are totally unaware)One day i see a reply from Airtel representative (a lady) saying i had talked about the issue with her and have agreed to wait for them to fix.I send a reply appreciating them in creating a great story (these people are too smart). Then the same lady calls and and starts argument on how i can send a mail like this. All these people would call the customer and talk any nonsense but will not give any details or explain these issue over mail.(any one can observe the replies they had attached in the same message board)I would suggest all airtel customer to record the phone conversation when ever you face any issues. (That's your only proof)Most interesting was the process of cancellation. After you confirm cancellation , airtel technicians while visit you house and take away all the airtel equipments (set top box and Dish and the wires(even though you have paid for these) and Then they initiate the Cancellation and you might get refund of what ever pending recharge amount. All the initial amount you have paid (in my case 2500 RS) is gone, that wont be refunded. If you have done some mistake, you have to pay for it later.Same with me i made a mistake of buying Airtel DTH connection and i have paid the price for this mistake.-- Praveen

This gives me a trick!!!If airtel engineer is not coming to your house, then give a disconnection request. Then when engineer comes to collect the equipment, ask him to fix the problem!! :D

Better yet. Here you can tell them you need a new connection instead of a disconnection request. Tell them you wiil pay at door step (if they have this service).

I used to get these nagging calls like "Sir..We are giving you free loan".
I told then to come over, and then sent them back :D

i think i will have to shun everything with 'airtel' branding. due to recent storms in delhi my airtel dth had some reception problems because of dish calibration issues. i called up airtel cc and my call was disconnected thrice while they pretended to register my complaint. finally after 2 days i was able to register my complaint and was told i would be charged rs 100 as they would be sending a (fake) engineer to rectify the problem who would visit within 24 hrs.i was given some code via sms which i had to share with the said engineer after the issue is resolved ( airtel's attempt to keep their personnel honest ).after 7 days of my complaint i got another sms informing me that problem with my dth has been rectified which obviously wasn't the case as nobody came from airtel's behalf.i had to call again to lodge complaint. it took them 1 more day to resolve it. it was a 2 min job for which they charged 100 bucks.i think i am through with airtel, will switch as soon as my advance rental plan gets over.

^Exactly my experience with them. So, the other day, the stb stopped recognizing the remote. Called up (after 2-3 disconnects) cc, got someone online. Explained to him my problem, he told that the remote would have to replaced and that I needed to pay 350 bucks for it, I asked him how could he be so sure, given the fact that the remote was able to control the tv perfectly well. He was like stfu, let us do our job, and that if you wanna save 100 bucks, pick the remote up yourself from our warehouse. Wasn't in a mood to argue, so I let it go.Next day, two clowns show up at my door, and after much "testing", conclude that my stb + remote had to be replaced (3 replacements in as many years). Add another 1000 bucks. I mean like these guys didn't know how to read english, and kept trying to access the format drive settings (the external one which needs to be plugged for recording stuff) I told them that there wasn't any drive attached. and again the same stfu, let us do our work attitude. I told them to perform a hard reset; now, they didn't know what a hard reset was. 10 minutes later, they've installed the new box. At this point, I lost my cool, gave them hell, and showed them the door. After they've gone, I search the net for instructions on a hard reset, do the same, and everything is back to normal.Seriously, Tata Sky, for all its faults, is miles ahead of these guys. Been the running the same stb on TS for seven years now.
