I recharged by 1799 few weeks back, so no impact for 1 year :D

What Jio did is to bring some good competition because consumers had no idea what is a justified price for 1GB of data until 2016/2017

Now the thing is everyone went with Jio's model of Unlimited data, Minimum recharge, X GB per day etc.
And all the companies HAVE to make these tariff changes on same day. If they don't, they will either make less profit than the competition or be called expensive than the competition 😂

If everyone increases hike, people won't complain about either.

That's like comparing prices of dial up in broadband era?
Still no minimum recharge was required in that era to keep incoming on.
Currently low usage users are subsidizing higher usage customers.

Jio has hiked prices too. @unnecessary yeah that should put things in perspective about how things were in the 2000s and the pre Jio era. I've had a mobile since 1999-2000 and outgoing calls were 16.50 per minute, incoming at Rs 5.

We have it good compared to other countries. One of the cheapest if not the cheapest mobile tariffs in the world.

No point complaining about it TBH. With an additional capital expenditure in 1000s of crores on 5G licenses and networks a price increase was bound to happen some day.
