i do end up online during the day time as well. so if i get used to 1mbps at nights. i would consider paying more from next month for full time 1 mbps. in the end, i feel no need for 1 mbps except for times when i have to download server backups and do other data intensive stuff.

after waiting for 5 days airtel has still not updated my plan apparently. still not getting the night time double speeds. sent a mail to airtel customer support with a cc to the airtel management guys. got a call in the morning at around 9:15. the dude said that he cannot see any records of my request. the truth is that i got a confirmation call on monday about my plan change. so there is no question that the request was not filed. he said he would look into the matter and refile the request if required and get back to me by evening. makes my life a bit more painful. one day at a time.
got another call from airtel customer care. they told me that the plan is active since 7th! 3 nights wasted (!). they would send a technician at night (past 10PM 
) if there is no problems at their end. heh. what a mess i am in.

heh. i was just going to post an update here. just got a call from another airtel representative. he said that there is some problem at their backend. speeds should be updated by MONDAY! but they would try to fix the problem by today. Funny situation. anyways, i have a few reasons to complain because the new plan is still cheaper than the older one. i am just losing out on double speeds at nights
