Airtel is rolling out IPv6 on their wired broadband services

I don't think i have ipv6 on fiber now 🤔

I recently upgraded the firmware version of my Asus router. After the firmware upgrade, I am not getting ipv6 anymore. I was blaming it on the firmware but looks like Airtel has stopped giving the ipv6?

Got a new ZTE ONU replacement for the Nokia one on xstream fibre today. Opened the web UI after ages and noticed was getting assigned IPv6 too.

Airtel and jio seem to the the only ones serious enough about ipv6. BSNL was leading at one point but seems to have abandoned it all together now.

I guess so many workarounds of ipv4 work too well for people to just ditch it comfortably. Everyone hates change na.

Only the growth of the internet in Africa can push for ipv6 now. Maybe another decade perhaps.
